So, after waiting for 30 minutes to be seen by someone/anyone to get a nite, I get brought in to an exam room. The aide tries to take my vitals, I refuse. I explain my situation (after apologizing for taking my frustration out on him). The physician assistant (not the doctor) comes in and I explain my situation again. He says that since I was not treated for my sinus/cold during those days, he can’t write the note. He can only only write on the note “patient states he had sinus/cold symptoms from 1/20-1/22”. To add insult to injury (after getting a note that I hope will work), I get billed $32 for the visit. Now to go back and wait at Health Services and see what happens. #healthcaresucks #redtape

Being sick sucks

The story so far:
Was out sick for sinus/cold mon-wed (1/20-1/22).
Went to ER on thurs (1/23) with kidney stone problems and got a note for two days off (1/23 & 1/24).
My weekend of sat/sun.
Monday (1/27) belly pain again.
Tuesday 1/28) returned to ER and got note to cover those two days.
During that time, work placed me on medical leave and removed my shifts from the schedule.
Today (1/30), I go to health services to turn in my paperwork and they say I can’t come back. Not enough documentation to cover all the days.
Go back across the street to my doctor office to get note to cover all the days. Secretary says I can’t just drop off the form, I need to see the doctor and they won’t backdate it. Plus they are going to charge my insurance (co-pay) for me to sit in the exam room and explain my situation and get a signature.
